This site is run as a non profit, hobby, the camera runs 24/7 at the East Beach Isle of Berneray Outer Hebrides. The webcam is located at the most north eastern tip of Berneray and looks south towards Uist over the East Beach.
The camera uses 4G technology so sometimes disconnects and reconnects, that along with frequent power cuts means the stream on YouTube has to be manually started at times. The camera is a 2k PTZ Hikvision camera, 4Mp sensor with x25 zoom, connected via POE Ethernet to a Raspberry Pi 3B running Restreamer. Power is supplied via an UPS in the event of power failure (which happens a lot). Using this setup we can send the stream to any platform or video service if required.
